Our economizer’s fin tube technology multiplies surface area by 7-10x, achieving unrivaled efficiency at 88-89%, surpassing competitors who often claim 85% but typically achieve only 75%.
For every 50°F lower in film temperature, fluid life doubles. Our serpentine coil design’s tube spacing ensures even heat distribution, resulting in a significant 50-60°F reduction in film temperature. This reduction is estimated to double the fluid lifespan in American Thermal heaters when compared to helical coil designs.
The helical coils stitch welded configuration is not able to thermally expand without putting stress on the coil itself and the stitch welding, which is why helical coil heaters often encounter numerous issues and failures. In contrast, the main combustion chamber in our serpentine coil design can absorb thermal expansion without stressing the coil itself, allowing us to anticipate a coil life of 30 years or longer in most cases.
American Thermal’s innovative heater design permits significantly lower flow rates compared to typical helical coil heaters available in the market, approximately half that of a standard helical coil system. This reduction in flow rate allows for a downsizing of piping and valves, resulting in reduced pump horsepower requirements. By downsizing a 10″ system to a 6″ system or a 6″ system to a 4″, you not only save on piping and valve costs but also reduce expenses related to welding and insulation. These savings can be substantial, ranging from $500K to $1M, depending on the system size.
Serpentine coil thermal fluid heaters demand minimal maintenance. When coil maintenance is required, it’s feasible to repair specific parts of the coil rather than replacing the entire coil. This task can often be completed in under a day, whether by removing the coil and conducting repairs or by working on it in place.
American Thermal’s Hot Oil Heaters (Thermal Fluid Heaters) utilize cutting-edge simulation software with a nearly 50-year track record of trust in the refinery industry. Introduced in 1975, this simulation technology is based on API-560 standards and is globally recognized as the industry leader in fired heater design software.
Beyond hot oil heaters, this versatile technology can design a wide range of equipment, including furnaces, boilers, waste heat economizers, high-temperature cracking furnaces, steam-methane reforming furnaces, and other intricate systems.
